Cellulite Control
53Cellulite Control: Is it Possible?
We would all like to think so, and to some degree it is. But where do you start? Let’s take a look at the causes of cellulite and build a cellulite control battle plan from there.
Genetics have a lot to do with it and just being female. Genetics decides where and how many fat cells you have and where they are placed. That is why some people have a higher tendency for cellulite in certain body areas than other people.
The connective tissue in women is more honeycomb looking than in men. It is easier for fat to push through, giving that dimpled, bumpy, all too familiar look to it, in women than in men. But of course some men develop cellulite as well. Also the layers of connective tissue on thighs are thinner so it is harder to have a smooth look. That tissue gets thinner with age too, which is way cellulite increases as people age.
But that smooth look is not impossible. There are many tools available for cellulite control. There are creams and lotions in most every department store from many manufactures. How do you decide if a cream or lotion is part of your cellulite control plan and which one is right for you?
It starts with research, eliminating the hoaxes and the it is just too good to be true promises. It is important to realize up front that creams and lotions alone is not a cellulite control method. They do have a place in a cellulite control battle plan, but it is a minor one.
They will provide a quicker, temporary-lessening look to cellulite while you are working on the areas of your battle plan. Look for a reputable company that has done research and has clinic backup to what they claim.
There are more expensive and longer-term treatment plans available to help on cellulite control. There are laser treatments, injections and surgeries. Laser treatments use light energy focused on fat deposits. This is safe, painless and non-invasive. It is also usually not covered by insurance and takes a course of many, perhaps 10 or more, to see the desired results. The benefit is that there is no recovery time and no side effects.
Surgery is another option in cellulite control. It is the easiest method of cellulite removal, but it isn’t perfect and you should do your research first in terms of surgeons, typical results, recovery time, etc.
Injection are available that claim to breakdown the fat in cellulite prone areas and it is then eliminated as waste from the body. Again do your research, as there are different injections with different claims. Look at side effects, realistic results, costs and how long you can expect any results to last.
One thing all methods of cellulite control have in common and that you absolutely need to include in your battle plan on cellulite control is a healthy diet and exercise. To maintain the effects of other products or procedures you need to exercise, eat right and drink water.
Cellulite is fat after all and fat responds to health eating, cardiovascular exercise, strength training and proper hydration. These things will be your biggest tools in getting the greatest and most long lasting result in cellulite control.
Your battle plan for cellulite control can be successful. Add supplemental tools such as creams, lotions, lasers, surgeries or injections if and, as they are right for you. But start with your greatest tool in cellulite control, you, and your ability to get yourself moving right away.
